In honor of Women’s History Month, TAO Asian Bistro locations across the country will offer specialty cocktails inspired by some of history’s most remarkable and accomplished women. Beginning on International Women’s Day, March 8, and continuing through the end of the month, these cocktails will honor women everywhere by donating one dollar from every cocktail purchased to local charities supporting women’s empowerment.

The cocktails were not only were inspired by women, but created by women. Tao Group Hospitality’s own Vice President of Beverage, East Region, Megan Ardizoni, and Corporate Beverage Manager Erin Davey combined their expertise and incredible talents to craft the libations. Ardizoni and Davey thoughtfully designed each cocktail with notes that tell the story of women that represent TAO’s rich Asian culture. The three cocktails include:

  • Cecilia Chung’s cocktail, made with white rum mezcal, coconut cream, taro syrup and lime juice, delivers a complex and distinctive flavor that parallels the driven activist who proudly deviated from the status quo and fought for LGBT rights, HIV/AIDS awareness, health advocacy, and social justice.
  • Murasaki Shikib, the Japanese novelist and poet who penned The Tale of Genji (which is widely considered to be one of the world’s first novels) cocktail is crafted with Irish whiskey, Aperol bitters, passionfruit, lime and mango-pineapple syrup. It perfectly encapsulates the author’s lush and creative spirit.
  • Chien-Shiung Wu’s contributions as a nuclear and particle physicist had a grand impact of the world of science. Her cocktail is experimental and innovative, with gin, blanc vermouth, clarified tomato water, raspberry shrub and sparkling wine.
