LAVO Italian Restaurant, Coming Soon to the Heart of San Diego’s Gaslamp Quarter this June
April 28, 2022
Globally acclaimed Tao Group Hospitality is thrilled to announce that its renowned Italian restaurant concept LAVO is coming to San Diego this summer. LAVO San Diego joins sister locations from across the world including New York City, Las Vegas, Los Angeles, and Singapore – all showcasing uniquely curated cocktail and culinary experiences reflective of their respective communities.
Opening in June, LAVO San Diego is located in the city’s historic Gaslamp Quarter. Featuring 235 seats and occupying a prime corner in the lively neighborhood, it will cater to locals and visitors alike. At LAVO San Diego guests can expect the boisterous, vibe-led dining experience of LAVO juxtaposed with a quintessential laid-back, yet chic, Southern California flair.
Tao Group Hospitality Chief Culinary Officer Ralph Scamardella has created a menu of LAVO’s hits like the infamous 1 lb Wagyu Meatball alongside brick oven pizzas and housemade pastas. The menu starts with Baked Clams Oreganata and a Chopped Antipasto Salad followed by Truffle Ricotta Cavatelli, Bone In Veal Chop Milanese and – of course – LAVO’s signature 20-Layer Chocolate Cake with Peanut Butter Mascarpone. The menu is complemented by playful cocktails like the Bubbles & Berries with vodka, St. Germain, Strawberries and Frizzante as well as an extensive selection of new and old-world wines.
Designed by Tao Group Hospitality’s in-house design team led by Vice President of Design and Development Susan Nugraha, LAVO San Diego features site-specific artwork commissioned for the space by long-time collaborator and artist Peter Tunney. The light-filled 15-foot loft-like restaurant houses an open kitchen, dining room with plush Hollywood banquettes, 3-sided bar with sports watching ability and outdoor sidewalk dining. Olive trees, antique wood floors and mirrors, and amber glowing pendants make perfect for both celebratory group dinners and intimate dates.
LAVO San Diego will be open for dinner, followed by lunch and brunch later this summer, and is located at 611 Fifth Ave, San Diego, CA 92101. For more information, please visit lavosd.com and follow on social media at @lavosd.
